Location; Rathbone Place, London - (5 minutes’ walk from Tottenham Ct Road)

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this is a high profile position within the Connected Home arm of Centrica. ‘Hive’ is the go to market brand and, famed for its innovation credentials, is currently leading the smart home category which although new in the UK market is quickly gaining momentum. We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial drive to both define and deliver all digital marketing activity in a rapidly scaling organisation both in terms of capability and market presence.

Fundamentally, this role has a complete end-to-end ownership of the area and the successful candidate must have a strong commercial focus, driving measurable acquisition and ROI through your work. There are two key online estates, which you’ll be responsible for ensuring optimal customer experience - hivehome.com and britishgas.co.uk/hive. Later in 2017 we will also be looking to transform our digital experience, and the successful candidate will be expected to champion this exciting change both in the UK market and beyond.

What will you be up to:

You’ll be responsible for a significant digital marketing budget and will be expected to lead the brand and acquisition strategy online and digital marketing across all media channels including PPC, Affiliates, Display, Digital, SEO and Social Media. Also leading the delivery of insight derived from performance tracking of all digital marketing activity.

At Hive we know that in order to scale we must bring structure and rigour to our planning and execution processes, yet retain an agile and lean mind-set to get the job done in the best possible way. As we scale we will require the Digital Marketing lead to share best practise with colleagues in other markets, and work to align plans and strategy where appropriate on a global level, to create consistency and a seamless online experiences for our customers. We believe increasing our digital presence and creating best in class content to deliver a superb online brand experience to aid both acquisition and retention is key to unlocking new and exciting audiences as we democratise the category across 2017.

To be brilliant in this role you will have/be:

  • Strong academics, with intellectual stature – educated to degree level - masters or equivalent experience will be advantageous
  • An outgoing and passionate senior player, with the attitude to deliver in a fast paced, start-up environment
  • An entrepreneurial flair and a willing attitude is important as in the connected homes category things change very quickly and we constantly strive to adapt to these changes
  • A passionate leader who knows how to inspire and motivate their team; someone who leads by example
  • The ability to step back and keep an eye on the direction as well as lasering in to the detail when needed
  • Committed to delivering campaigns that provide us with a competitive edge over others in the connected homes space
  • Results focused and analytical
  • Able to champion the digital and social expertise among peers and senior management
  • Highly competent in overseeing PPC, affiliates, display, social, SEO campaigns and programmatic media
  • Significant experience of web, e-commerce MI and leading reporting standards
  • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategies and best practice, plus 3rd party agency management is essential
  • Previous experience of marketing consumer oriented products, ideally in a tech or new product category and experience of working with a technology brand will be an advantage
  • Comfortable with numbers with experience of planning, basic forecasting & reporting, plus previous experience of running a budget and being responsible for sales targets
  • A global outlook – someone who has worked in or with other markets and therefore understands that digital doesn’t have firm geographical boundaries
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to develop close and effective working relationships – and also have experiences doing this with colleagues in other markets, respecting local cultural differences and ways of working

Salary; Circa £55,000 - £60,000 (with flex, depending on experience) + car allowance & excellent bonus and benefits
