British Gas is the biggest supplier of gas and electricity to Britain’s domestic market with more than 16 million customer accounts. Our people are a key element of our business plans and ensuring their appropriate reward is vital to our success and development. Consequently we require additional Reward Analysts to work at Centrica headquarters in Windsor and at British Gas headquarters in Staines. You will work with senior Reward leaders and our Reward Managers to deliver our reward agenda by managing specific programmes and providing timely analysis and interpretation of data.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Interpreting our reward policies and advising line managers accordingly.
  • Administering reward programmes across the relevant business, such as benefit programmes or bonus schemes, and identifying process improvements.
  • Providing grading / job pricing data and insight using established methodology.
  • Using internal and external data to develop spreadsheets and models for statistical analysis, then interpreting the results to produce succinct advice, highlighting trends and anomalies.
  • Participating in established compensation-related surveys, including data submission, or commissioning bespoke surveys on behalf of internal clients.
  • Working within the relevant Reward team to improve the overall reward capability across the organisation through regular and clear communication with managers.


Skills required

  • Educated to degree-level, with previous Reward, HR or data analytical experience.
  • Excellent data analysis and Excel skills are essential. Microsoft Access knowledge would be desirable.
  • Ideally experience of job evaluation (preferably with Hay).
  • Strong organisation and project management skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to explain complex statistical analysis in simple, practical terms.
